Biography

Zach Oleksiuk is a Managing Director on the Shareholder & Strategic Advisory team within Evercore’s corporate advisory business. Mr. Oleksiuk advises clients on shareholder engagement, investor relations, corporate governance and ESG matters as part of Evercore’s activism and raid defense practice.

Mr. Oleksiuk has over 20 years of relevant experience. Prior to joining Evercore in 2017, he served as Head of the Americas for BlackRock Investment Stewardship, where he led the team responsible for all proxy voting decisions and engagement with companies on corporate governance, activist situations, M&A and environmental and social matters. Mr. Oleksiuk also led BlackRock’s participation as a founding signatory to the Investor Stewardship Group (ISG) and the Framework for U.S. Stewardship and Governance. He previously spent five years with Institutional Shareholder Services.

Mr. Oleksiuk is an active thought leader in the corporate governance community and is a frequent speaker to audiences of corporate directors and executives, investors, regulators, students, and other market participants. He serves on the Council of Institutional Investors (CII) Markets Advisory Council, served on the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) Standing Advisory Group from 2015-2017 and chaired the CII Corporate Governance Advisory Council in 2016-2017. He is a CFA charterholder and a member of the CFA Society of New York, where he chaired the Corporate Governance Committee.

Mr. Oleksiuk earned an MBA from the Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland and a BA from the Pennsylvania State University.
