Susan Stenson

Susan Stenson is the CEO at Independent Audit. She has been working directly with Boards and management teams across Europe for over 20 years. Having started her career as a corporate solicitor at an international law firm in London she went on to become a long-serving Group Company Secretary in a financial markets infrastructure before taking up a head of strategy role. Her diverse background in executive roles is invaluable in the work she currently undertakes advising and supporting boards.

Susan is known as a pragmatist: she believes in finding realistic governance solutions that suit each client’s unique circumstances. She’s also a long-time believer in striving for positive change. She is known as an advocate for finding the courage to tackle challenging conversations and confront the need for change. Her mission at Independent Audit has been to help make our purpose – Better governance for a better world – a reality. She’s a strong believer that diversity, inclusion and ESG are not just regulatory imperatives but part of the necessary shift into creating businesses, and ultimately a world, that works better for all of us.
