Maggie FitzPatrick is widely recognized as a top corporate affairs expert and c-suite business leader. She currently serves on the board of directors of two NASDAQ-listed companies. In 2023, she was named to the faculty of the National Association of Corporate Directors Board Advisory Services.

Previously Maggie served as global chief communications officer and head of public affairs at Johnson & Johnson, where she led a team of more than 500 professionals across 260 operating companies in 60 countries. Prior to J&J, she served as chief communications officer and president of the foundation at Cigna Corporation. More recently, she was responsible for corporate affairs, marketing, branding, and philanthropic initiatives at the nation’s largest clean energy utility. As a founder of FitzPatrick & Co., she now delivers executive-level counsel to board directors, CEOs, and A-list celebrities. Maggie was recognized as one of the most influential global communications professionals in multiple years by PRWeek Magazine and recognized as a top C-suite executive by Washington Business Journal.

An experienced NACD Directorship Certified® leader, Maggie has extensive experience serving on publicly traded and nonprofit boards. She is a director at Vistagen (VTGN), where she serves as Chair and member of the compensation and nomination and governance committees and AN2 Therapeutics (ANTX) where she serves on the Nominating/Governance Committee. Maggie has been featured in Fortune Magazine on topics related to board effectiveness and CEO succession and was a panelist at the 2022 and 2023 National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) Annual Summit. A sought-after expert on topics related to board governance, Maggie has spoken on optimizing for scale, the modern engagement toolkit, CEO succession, board diversity, universal proxy and managing risk in an era of heightened activism. She is an active member of Women Executive on Boards and actively supports programs designed to help women succeed as corporate directors.

In July 2023, Maggie completed a three-year government appointment as vice chair of the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities. In 2024, the President announced his intention to nominate her to the National Council on the Humanities. An avid supporter of the arts, Maggie is a past Trustee of the Mead Center for American Theater at Arena Stage. Maggie holds a M.A. in Public Policy from The George Washington University and a B.A. in English and Public Policy from Syracuse University. She completed the Harvard Business School board directorship program in 2018.
