Joanne Henstock

Joanne is experienced accounting and auditing professional with deep experience of sustainability and other types of non-financial reporting and related independent external assurance services.  She recently joined EY’s Oceania Climate Change and Sustainability practice and is currently based in Sydney after having led the Africa practice for a number of years from Johannesburg. 

As part of various roles over her twenty-year career as Chartered Accountant she has also worked extensively with companies and their boards on corporate governance and responsible business best practices. Her work with many corporates on integration of strategic ESG priorities within corporate strategy has rounded out her professional career experience focused on ESG strategy, reporting and related assurance. Against this background she has deep experience working in both reporting and assurance disciplines, including advising corporates on application of regulation and standards in non-financial reporting settings.

Prior to her role with EY’s Climate Change and Sustainability division in South Africa and Australia, she held senior roles working for both global and national standard-setters and market regulators in the sphere of auditing and assurance regulation and standard-setting.
