Duncan Spencer

Duncan is a recognised leader in the field of occupational safety and health, being a regular guest speaker at conferences and a published author on the subject including a book and many articles, blogs and columns. He is presently the Head of Advice & Practice for the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health and a Chartered Fellow. This role includes managing IOSH’s academic research function, and its content development team. This team is responsible for delivering thought leadership to advance the knowledge of occupational health and safety professionals and help to better inform policy setting and engagement cross the globe.

Duncan is an expert in applying a risk-led and evidence-driven approach to safety, building his knowledge by working in many different industrial sectors and government/public organisations in the UK and other countries across the world. This includes agriculture, construction, retail, distribution, health care, charities, uniformed public services and manufacturing.
