Chirag Mehta

Mr. Chirag Mehta is currently Chief Investment Officer (CIO)  at Quantum Asset Management Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Quantum Advisors. He joined the Quantum group in 2006. He has  two  decades of experience specializing in  alternative investment strategies. He currently manages the Quantum India ESG Equity Fund, a very first ever  Indian ESG fund that was built on a proprietary ESG framework. Additionally, he also manages funds in the multi asset, Equity Fund of Funds (manager selection) strategies and mentors the research team at Quantum.

Chirag spearheads Quantum’s efforts in the world of responsible investment and extensively engages with the Government, policymakers and companies to further sustainable finance in Indian markets. Chirag was instrumental in creation of a proprietary ESG framework aligned to global best practices and actively engages with Indian companies to them improve their sustainability credentials creating a benchmark for ESG investing in India.

Chirag has been formerly ranked as the 4th best performing Fund Manager in the world under the age of 40 by Citywire in 2017. He is a qualified CAIA (Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst) . Academically  holds  his Master’s in Management Studies in Finance from leading Mumbai University. He  is regularly featured in media and also invited to speak at international and domestics conferences on sustainability and asset allocation.

Chirag is currently part of a government led task force to contribute on enhancing over all Sustainable Finance in India. He is also a member of the advisory board of Workforce Disclosure Initiative, part of the Share action group and an  active member of CDP India – Sustainable Finance working group. He is also a member of Green Finance Leadership Initiative and the India SIF. He is also an active voting member of The Lab that identifies, develops, and launches innovative finance solutions that can drive billions in private investment to action on climate change.
