Yonghwan Choi

Yonghwan Choi, who joined NH-Amundi Asset Management in October 2020, is Head of the ESG Research Team, leading ESG analysis, rating and stewardship activities. Futhermore, he recently expanded exchanges with Amundi, a leading global ESG investment company, and is working to embed advanced ESG finance techniques into NH-Amundi and Nonghyup Financial Group.

Prior to joining NH-Amundi, he served as a Senior Analyst at SUSTINVEST, Korea’s leading ESG rating and proxy voting advisory firm. At SUSTINVEST, he performed ESG investment strategy consulting for major domestic asset management companies, development of SRI Benchmark for the National Pension Service(NPS), and preparation of agenda analysis report for general shareholders’ meetings.

He also served as a researcher at the Korea Environmental Industry and Technology Institute (KEITI), a government agency under the Korean Ministry of Environment, and performed sustainability management consulting at Eco-Frontier. He has 10 years of experience in ESG research, consulting and finance.

He earned his master’s degree in Green Finance from the KAIST Graduate School of Business, and wrote a thesis on the subject of ESG Rating and Financial Performance of Korean Firms.
