Director of the Corporate Accounting and Disclosure Divisionin the Policy and Markets Bureau, Financial Services Agency of Japan. Since July 2018, he has been in charge of promoting implementation of Japan’s Stewardship Code and Corporate Governance Code. He is also responsible for supervising the corporate disclosure system in order to encourage dialogue between investors and companies, and reviewing the accounting and auditing systems for ensuring public confidence.

He graduated from the University of Tokyo with a degree in law and started his career at the Ministry of Finance in 1991. When he was the Director for International Accounting in 2012, he worked with IOSCO, IFIAR, and the IFRS Foundation Monitoring Board. He became the Director of the Securities Business Division of the Supervisory Bureau of the Financial Services Agency in 2014, the Director of the Insurance Business Division of the Supervisory Bureau in 2015 and the Director of the Credit System Office of the Planning and Coordination Bureau in 2016. 

He also worked as Financial Attaché of the Permanent Delegation of Japan to the OECD (1999 to 2002) and Advisor in the Monetary and Capital Markets Department of the International Monetary Fund (2009 to 2012).
