Peter Taylor is Head of Brazil for Aberdeen Standard Investments, one of Europe´s largest asset managers, based in São Paulo since 2016. Peter began his career in 1999 at the International Finance Corporation (IFC, the private sector investment arm of The World Bank Group) in Washington DC. At IFC he specialized in capital markets development and corporate governance, supporting Bovespa (the Sao Paulo stock exchange) in the creation of the Novo Mercado listing segment, before moving to Hong Kong, where he worked on the privatization of state-owned banks in China and Vietnam. In 2007, he joined Aberdeen Asset Management´s Asian equities team in Singapore as an Investment Manager. He ran the Indonesian equities funds and led shareholder engagements with companies across Asia. During this time he was appointed by the Singapore Ministry of Finance to sit on the Singapore Corporate Governance Council. In 2011 Peter moved to the Global Emerging Markets team in London as a Senior Investment Manager and Global Head of Corporate Governance before taking over responsibility for the Latin American equities funds in 2016. He currently sits on the board of the Brazilian Capital Markets Association (AMEC). Peter graduated with a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University and an MA in International Relations from The Johns Hopkins University, concentrating in International Economics and International Law. He is a CFA Charterholder.
