Kris Douma joined the PRI in December 2015 as Director of Investment Practices and Reporting. From 2003 till 2007 he was a Member of Parliament in the House of Representatives in the Netherlands, following a 12 year career as a trade union officer and manager in trade union federation Dutch FNV. After leaving the Dutch parliament in 2007, he spent seven  years as Director of Responsible Investment & Governance and member of the management team at MN, the fiduciary manager for Dutch and UK pension funds with €100 billion AUM. In that capacity he collaborated with the PRI on numerous initiatives, most notably, in collaborative engagements, development of investment practice (e.g. private equity) and the PRI policy network. From 2010 to 2014 he was also chair of the investment committee and board member of Eumedion, the Dutch Investor platform. Most recently—2015—he was manager for 'Public Interest' at the Dutch Professional Accountants Organisation (NBA), coordinating the implementation of measures to improve independence, integrity and quality in the Dutch audit industry. At the PRI, Kris Douma will be responsible for further developing and implementing the PRI’s work on investment practices and reporting, supporting signatories to develop their own practices in ESG-integration on investment policy, investment decisions, active ownership and transparency.
