Roberta Jamieson

Ms. Jamieson is a corporate director. She was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Indspire (a Canadian Indigenous charity that invests in the education of First Nations, Inuit and Métis people) from 2004 to 2020. Prior to that, she was elected chief of the Six Nations of the Grand River Territory from 2001 to 2004. She served as the Ombudsman of Ontario from 1989 to 1999. She also acted as Commissioner of the Indian Commission of Ontario between 1986 and 1989.

Ms. Jamieson is co-chair of the Indigenous advisory council of the Canadian National Railway Company and a member of the board of directors of Deloitte Canada and Royal Bank of Canada. She is also a founding visionary of the Prosperity Project.

Ms. Jamieson holds a Bachelor of Laws from Western University. She was the first First Nations woman to earn a law degree in Canada. She was awarded the Indigenous Peoples’ Counsel designation by the Indigenous Bar Association and is an officer of the Order of Canada.

Ms. Jamieson has received 30 honorary Doctor of Laws degrees as well as numerous business and community awards, including the inaugural Mary Parker Follett Award for conflict resolution, the Indigenous Women in Leadership Award from the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business and the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.
