About

Climate change is the single greatest challenge humankind has ever faced, its consequences already too apparent. There here has been an enormous rise in climate-related disasters over the past two decades, leading to the deaths of over 1.2 million people and affecting more than 4 billion people in total*. This has added greater pressure on companies and investors to manage the consequences of an increasingly unstable ecological environment, and to mitigate the risk of a potential climate catastrophe. What role should we expect corporate governance to play in tackling the climate emergency? How are companies embedding climate considerations into their board structures and processes to navigate the risks and opportunities? To what extent does the governance of a company correlate with their proactivity in managing climate risk, such as reporting on Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), or aligning their business with an evolving net-zero economy? Join our panel of corporate governance and climate experts in this continuing dialogue on the rapidly growing importance of climate governance.
