Biography

Caroline is a Head of Sustainable Ownership (Acting) at Railpen, leading the global stewardship work on £37bn of assets under management on behalf of 350,000 members of the UK railways pension schemes. She sits on the ICGN’s Global Stewardship Committee.

She is Chair of the Investor Coalition for Equal Votes (ICEV), which is a $2 trillion coalition of investors looking to push back against unequal voting rights, and Vice-Chair of the Global International Governance Network (GIGN) as well as a fully accredited professional pension trustee at the Standard Life Master Trust. She has won various industry awards, including as Women in Pensions and also Rising Star Awards “Investment Manager of the Year 2022”, Investment Week’s “Investment Woman of the Year 2019” and was picked as one of Financial News’ 2020 “Top 25 Rising Stars of Asset Management in Europe”. 

In her spare time, she chairs NextGen, an industry organisation which seeks to boost cognitive diversity in the UK pensions sector, and is a Board Director of the Social Market Foundation (SMF), a cross-party Westminster think-tank.
