ANNE SIMPSON APPOINTED EXECUTIVE
DIRECTOR OF INTERNATIONAL CORPORATE GOVERNANCE NETWORK
| London, 14 October 2004. The Board
of Governors of the International Corporate Governance
Network (ICGN) has voted unanimously to appoint Anne Simpson
as the Network’s first Executive Director. For the
past five years Anne has been Head of the Secretariat
at the Global Corporate Governance Forum, an organisation
founded by the World Bank and the OECD to support governance
reform in developing and emerging markets. |
 |
Prior to this Anne was joint managing director
of Pensions & Investment Research Consultants, one of
the UK’s leading advisors on corporate governance.
ICGN’s Chair of the Board of Governors,
Alastair Ross Goobey, said: "The Board determined that,
so that we can develop the ICGN to a still more effective
level, we should appoint our first Executive Director. I can
think of no one better qualified to fulfil the task than Anne,
and we are delighted to have been able to recruit her."
Anne Simpson commented: "The ICGN is
already seen as the leading investor-led governance organisation
in the world. I hope to be able to build on that position
so that we can become still more effective and influential
in creating effective and practical governance structures
around the world."
