Frequently asked questions

Can non-members attend ICGN events?

ICGN events are open to members and non-members who benefit from unique networking opportunities, receive free conference materials and learn from leading opinion formers on a range of issues. Speakers and delegates join from all sides of the corporate governance community including investment, business, the professions and policy making.

How can I sponsor an ICGN conference?

ICGN conferences provide an excellent opportunity for sponsors to meet with potential clients from across the world. Sponsorship packages are created for each ICGN conference by the host organisation and the ICGN. These are then made available on the ICGN website. Sponsors can choose from a range of options with exclusive association with a variety networking and social events. In addition, there are a number of specific activities and items available.

What are the benefits of sponsoring an ICGN conference?

The Annual Conference attracts over 500 delegates including investors, directors, policy makers and stakeholders, while Mid-year events regularly draw in over 200 delegates.  Sponsor organisations specifically benefit from: exclusive access to an international network of delegates; recognition in the conference magazine, the ICGN website, and on-site banners; acknowledgement in conference email marketing communications; and complimentary invitations to participate in the event and social activities.

What is a conference partner?

The ICGN invites some organisations with a focus on corporate governance to become partners at ICGN conferences. The aim is to share resources and expertise to further the common interest in raising the profile of corporate governance reform world wide. Partner organisations raise the awareness of ICGN events to its members and associates through email correspondence and marketing on their website and in relevant journals. In return, Partners benefits from acknowledgement by the ICGN in relevant marketing material and can offer special discounted rates for its members to join the event.

How is the conference programme developed?

A conference planning committee is set up 12 months before an Annual Conference and 6 months before a Mid year Event. The committee is made up of corporate governance experts and reflects a regional and gender balance. The committee meets by phone and their purpose is to develop conference themes and to secure high level speakers.

Can I speak at an ICGN event or suggest a speaker?

All suggestions for speakers are welcome and appreciated. These are then sent directly to the planning committee to be reviewed on merit. Send any suggestions to Tina Chande by email at tina.chande@icgn.org

Can I recommend a location for a conference?

We welcome suggestions from ICGN members for ideas on new locations. Such suggestions should be backed up with the confidence of securing both local delegates and sponsorship to make the conference a financial success. These suggestions are then considered by the ICGN Board and then voted upon by ICGN members at the AGM.

Can I hand out my materials at ICGN events?

ICGN sponsors and partners can display relevant materials in the exhibition area at the conference which is agreed in advance with Tina Chande, ICGN Events Co-ordinator (tina.chande@icgn.org). However, the ICGN is not able to display or circulate materials from any other party who is not either a sponsor or a partner without previous agreement with the ICGN.
