  American Independence Day fireworks and picnic
The Social Programme will start with a picnic party on the evening of American Independence Day, 4th July, at the conference hotel, the Omni Shoreham. A Washington D.C. landmark hotel since 1930, the Omni Shoreham Hotel has played host to many of history's notables not to mention a few Presidential Inaugural Balls.

  Opening reception at the Corcoran Gallery of Art
On Wednesday, 5th July, the Corcoran Gallery of Art is the venue for the Conference's opening reception. A major centre of American art, both historic and contemporary, the Corcoran was founded “for the purpose of encouraging American Genius.” Its extensive collection of 18th, 19th, and 20th century American art represents most significant American artists and it also possesses a fine collection of European art.

  Gala dinner at the National Building Museum
The Conference Gala dinner on Thursday, 6th July will take place at the spectacular National Building Museum. Designed in 1881 by civil engineer and U.S. Army General, Montgomery C. Meigs, the building was completed in 1887. Originally housing the Pension Bureau and later occupied by many government agencies, it is widely recognized as a marvel of engineering.
